磺酰脲是代谢的肝脏，及其代谢物(一些与药物活动)排出的尿液和粪便。患者受损的肝脏和/或肾脏功能处理磺酰脲可能暴露于高血清的药物浓度，其可以增加的潜在可能情节严重的低血糖诱导这些试剂。在存在的肝损伤、糖原异生作用的能力也可减少，进一步复杂化的风险。治疗用磺酰脲应给予谨慎的患者的肝脏和/或肾病。减少量和长期之间的间隔剂量的调整可能是必需的。低血糖，如果它发生在治疗过程中，可以延长，在这些病人因为减缓新陈代谢和/或排泄的药物。
